Beef Bulgogi Stir-Fry

Quicker than a takeaway and so much better for you, this low-calorie stir-fry is easy to make and ready in just 20 minutes.

Method

Based on 4 servings, adjust as needed.

Step 1

Put the ginger, soy, mirin, garlic, pineapple, chilli flakes, sugar and 1 tsp of the sesame oil in a food processor and blend until fine. Pour the marinade into a bowl, add the meat, mix well and leave to sit while you prepare the onion.

Step 2

Heat the remaining sesame oil in a large wok or frying pan until very hot. Add the onion and stir-fry for a few mins. Add the beef and the marinade, stirring constantly until it’s cooked through, about 5 mins. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and serve with rice and chopped spring onions.

  • 4 tbsp Mirin 1x Sainsbury's Mirin, Inspired to Cook 150ml
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds 1x Sainsbury's Sesame Seeds 50g
  • 500g Rump steak, trimmed of fat and sliced 2x Sainsbury's British or Irish 21 Day Matured Rump Steak 225g
  • 1 Spring Onions, chopped, to serve 1x Sainsbury's Spring Onions Bunch 100g
  • 3 Garlic Cloves 1x Sainsbury's Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Pineapple, chopped 1x Sainsbury's Pineapple
  • 4 cm Piece of Ginger 1x Sainsbury's Ginger 100g
  • 3 tsp Sesame Oil 1x Sainsbury's Sesame Oil, Toasted 250ml
  • 4 tbsp Soy Sauce 1x Sainsbury's Dark Soy Sauce 150ml
  • 3 tbsp Caster Sugar 1x Billington's Golden Caster Natural Unrefined Cane Sugar 250g
  • 1 Large Onion, cut into half moons 1x Sainsbury's Onions Loose
  • 2 Cooked Basmati Rice 2x Ben's Original Classic Basmati Microwave Rice 220g
