Slow Cooker Lamb Tagine

This warming tagine is so easy to make, pop it all in the slow cooker and you’ve got a beautiful warm meal to come home to! Serve with couscous or rice!

Method

Based on 4 servings, adjust as needed.

Step 1

Add all of the ingredients to the slow cooker and cook for 6-8 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high (excluding the accompaniments like rice or couscous, broccoli and sour cream).

Step 2

It's time to serve when the lamb is tender. Boil or lightly steam the broccoli, if using until tender.

Step 3

Serve the tagine and broccoli with the cooked rice or couscous, heated according to the packet instructions.

  • 1 cup Frozen Chopped Onions 1x Sainsbury's Chopped Onions 500g
  • 400g Tinned Tomatoes 1x Stamford Street Co. Chopped Tomatoes in Tomato Juice 400g
  • 100g Tagine Paste, or double the amount of tagine sauce 1x Belazu Tagine Paste 170g
  • 320g Diced Lamb Leg 1x Sainsbury's British or New Zealand Extra Lean Diced Lamb 300g
  • 1 Tin Chickpeas 1x Sainsbury's Chickpeas in Water 400g (240g*)
  • 2 pouches Cooked White Rice, or couscous 2x Ben's Original Classic Long Grain Microwave Rice 220g
  • Maldon Salt to taste, 1x Maldon Sea Salt Flakes 250g
  • 400g Tenderstem Broccoli, trimmed and steamed 2x Sainsbury's Tenderstem Broccoli 200g
  • 4 tbsp Sour Cream 1x Sainsbury's Fresh Soured Cream 150ml
